We bet you to the punch! I was with the Year in the Son students at Tabor College in Adelaide for the last three days and they ran Slum Survivor there. I also hear that in a few weeks, the Year in the Son students at Tabor College in Melbourne will be running it also. It's spreading!

And I stink...

And I may not be able to look dahl in the face for at least a few more months...

AFTER reading your statements dear Jimmy, a tear comes to my eyes, how can I a relative poor person in today's society, make it easier for these slum dwellers and very poor children and others in these pethetic living circumstances...belive me I am trying, and praying to GOD every day to make my mission a succesful one to open the eyes of relatively rich society!
WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE, I drive a $600 - 1990 ford now AND LUCKY TO HAVE IT SAVES WALKING EVERYWHERE LIKE THESE PEOPLE HAVE TO...AND even though I am disabled myself and on a disability pension with about 50% of our pension going in rent, at least I can boast of having a house and even pets, we live "like KINGS" compared to these people, let's open our HEARTS TO THEM "OUR MUCH POORER NEIGHBOURS" that GOD COMMANDS WE SHOULD LOVE...are we really loving them? Please be charitable to these poor people in need that have NOTHING! GIVE TO THEM....frank niero (noahs ark projects).

dear STEPHIE....

I ADMIRE YOUR SPIRIT AND COURAGE AND RESPECT... YOUR LONGING FOR JUSTICE AND MORE HELP TO THE VERY POOR AND SLUM DWELLERS, MY first view of slums was in Naples Italy over 50 years ago just before leaving for Autralia by ship (Aurelia) it has been inprinted in my brain for ever more, the squallor and human degradation..little children with not even any clothes (nude) they were so poor, their family with nothing.. beggars and very depressed in appearance.. The squallor of their slums! THE ONES THE WORLD FORGOT!! It is not much different, if not worst now with so many diseases we did not experience 50 years ago..when will MANKIND LEARN AND BE MORE CHARITABLE TO THESE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE THE DESPERATE POOR, THE FORGOTTEN, THE ONES THE WORLD STEPS ON! THE ONES GOD LOVES THE MOST..THE POOR THE REAL POOR. I HOPE YOUR ENTRY STEPHIE OPENS THE EYES AND THE WALLETS OF PEOPLE BETTER OFF IN THIS WORLD...LOVE Frank Niero, (NOAHS ARK PROJECTS)

Hi Spiro,

it's a simulation, not an attempt to recreate the real thing, and it's aimed at raising awareness of urban poverty among people who might otherwise never stop to think about real people living in these situations.

How pathetic and sad that people think that they can recreate how people live in real slums it is shameful and if they want to experience it they should leave everything behind and go to a third world country and stay with the locals living without electricity or running water all the time.
